A Prayer for Evie

Dear Lord,

You have beautifully made this child, Delicately crafted each part. But we know you will do Your most wondrous work When you move within her heart.

We pray that you would call her, And help her hear your voice, To quicken her little spirit So you always will be her choice.

We ask that you protect her, And gently direct her way, That you would keep and guide Her and always be her stay.

We ask that you strengthen her, To know and do your will, That in the endless ages she Will be doing your will still.

We know she is so little and Constantly in need of care. We ask that you sustain with grace The parents you have prepared.

We ask that you send angels, Those whom you’ve appointed To be constant watchmen For this child you are anointing,

To be your fearless witness In a world with stopped-up ears, A child of the covenant, May she be faithful all her years.
